The Swedish Workshops on Data Science (SweDS) allow members of a community with common interests to meet in the context of a focused and interactive discussion. SweDS 2018, the sixth Swedish Workshop on Data Science, brings together researchers, practitioners, and opinion leaders with interest in data science. The goal is to further establish this important area of research and application in Sweden, foster the exchange of ideas, and to promote collaboration.<\/p>\n

As a followup to the very successful previous editions, held at the University of Gothenburg | Chalmers, University of Sk\u00f6vde, University of Bor\u00e5s, Stockholm University, Blekinge Institute of Technology<\/u>, we plan 1.5 days of inspiring talks, discussion sessions, and time for networking. We invite stakeholders from academia, industry, and society to share their thoughts, experiences and needs related to data science. The workshop is organized by the Department of Computing Science<\/u>\uff0cUme\u00e5 University.<\/u> Topics of the workshop include all areas of data science including methods from statistics and machine learning, computational science, algorithms and data structures for big data, applications of data science across various applications domains (e.g., Computer Science,\u00a0 Image Analysis, Medicine, Healthcare, Biology,\u00a0 Sociology, Psychology, Physics, Geography, Internet-of-things etc. ).<\/p>\n

Submission Guidelines<\/strong>:
\nWe invite academic researchers as well as industrial researchers and practitioners to submit short abstracts (400-500 words)<\/u> in one of the following categories: (1) original research, (2) new\/relevant challenge, (3) status report of ongoing work. Abstracts will be screened and selected based on relevance and quality. The authors of accepted abstracts are given approx. 15-20 minutes to present (incl. questions\/discussion).\u00a0 Some of the submissions may be given chance to present their work during poster\/demonstration track if we think their work is suitable for poster\/demo interaction. A collection of abstracts will be published online. The abstract should include the complete author list for the work in the abstract and only add the presenting author in Easychair<\/a>
