ICAME is one of the most important ongoing conference series on corpus linguistics, and since this is the 40th installment it is something of an anniversary. The theme this year is \u201cLanguage in Time, Time in Language\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>This year we are happy to see that we have many\u00a0of our researchers connected to DISA present to represent us and the research conducted at Linnaeus University.<\/p>\n<p>The conference activities connected to DISA LNU are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Jukka Tyrkk\u00f6<\/strong> will be organizing a workshop called \u201cBig data and the study of language and culture: Parliamentary discourse across time and space\u201d together with Minna Korhonen and Haidee Kruger.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Mikko Laitinen<\/strong> is presenting a paper on variation in indefinite pronouns in historical American English called \u201cTowards the Inevitable Demise of Everybody?\u201d together with Emily \u00d6hman and Tanja S\u00e4ily.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Magnus Levin<\/strong> and Jenny Str\u00f6m Herold will present on echoic binomials in an English-German-Swedish perspective as a part of the \u201cLanguages in Time, Time in Languages: Phraseological perspectives\u201d workshop.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Mikko Laitinen<\/strong>, <strong>Jukka Tyrkk\u00f6<\/strong>, <strong>Magnus Levin<\/strong>, <strong>Alexander Lakaw<\/strong> and <strong>Daniel Sundberg<\/strong> will be presenting a paper on the use of American English and British English in the Nordic context through the Nordic Tweet Stream.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>For more information about the research within the research group for Data Intensive Digital Humanities, visit their <a href=\"https:\/\/lnu.se\/en\/research\/searchresearch\/data-intensive-digital-humanities2\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">website<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\/Diana<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The 40th Annual Conference of the International Computer Archive for Modern and Medieval English\u00a0(ICAME) will be held at Universit\u00e9 de Neuch\u00e2tel in Switzerland, June 1 \u2013 5.
