Med detta skulle fler medborgare \u00f6ver hela Sverige delta i kunskapssamh\u00e4llet. Kalmar och V\u00e4xj\u00f6 var tv\u00e5 av de 12 h\u00f6gskolorna.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Snart 50 \u00e5r senare kan vi svara p\u00e5 fr\u00e5gan p\u00e5 vilka s\u00e4tt man klarat av att infria f\u00f6rhoppningarna.&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.sns.se\/artiklar\/demokratisering-och-decentralisering-av-hogskolan-en-utvardering-av-1977-ars-svenska-hogskoleexpansion\/\">SNS rapport<\/a>&nbsp;om den \u00e5syftade breddade rekryteringen och dess konsekvenser sl\u00e4pptes torsdagen den 25 april och diskuterades p\u00e5 ett seminarium i Stockholm \u2013 och p\u00e5 n\u00e4tet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p>Kunskapssamh\u00e4llet st\u00e4ller idag andra och h\u00f6gre krav p\u00e5 forskningsbaserad h\u00f6gre utbildning \u00e4n f\u00f6r 50 \u00e5r sedan. Linn\u00e9universitetet \u00e4r ett av Sveriges st\u00f6rre l\u00e4ros\u00e4ten med en stor bredd p\u00e5 utbildning och forskning, placerat i en del av Sverige med starkt, exportinriktat n\u00e4ringsliv. En region som har behov av vidare forskning och innovation i n\u00e4ra samverkan med n\u00e4ringsliv och offentlig sektor. Linn\u00e9universitetet st\u00f6ttar en regionf\u00f6rstoring, st\u00e4rker konkurrenskraften f\u00f6r n\u00e4ringslivet och s\u00e4kerst\u00e4ller kompetensf\u00f6rs\u00f6rjningen f\u00f6r b\u00e5de offentlig och privat sektor.&nbsp;Historiskt \u00e4r detta en region med l\u00e5g andel h\u00f6gre utbildning, m\u00e5nga sm\u00e5 och medelstora f\u00f6retag och allt h\u00f6gre kompetensbehov f\u00f6r \u00f6kad konkurrenskraft.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00c4ven om man inte tagit med effekten av frist\u00e5ende kurser och avgr\u00e4nsat sig till hemkommunerna f\u00f6r de nya h\u00f6gskolorna s\u00e5 konstaterar rapportf\u00f6rfattarna att det \u00e4r en klassisk svensk reform som lyckats mobilisera fler studenter ur studieovana milj\u00f6er; och med en h\u00f6gre grad av etnisk m\u00e5ngfald \u00e4n exempelvis universiteten i Lund och Uppsala.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Vi p\u00e5 Linn\u00e9universitetet utbildar dubbelt s\u00e5 stor andel studenter fr\u00e5n familjer utan h\u00f6gutbildade f\u00f6r\u00e4ldrar som Uppsala och Lund. Vi har \u00e4ven fler studenter med utl\u00e4ndsk bakgrund, mer \u00e4n 26 procent i j\u00e4mf\u00f6relse med Uppsalas och Lunds 20 respektive 22 procent.&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Fr\u00e5n andra studier ser vi att 80 procent av de som s\u00f6ker fr\u00e5n regionen stannar p\u00e5 den regionala arbetsmarknaden mot bara 20 procent av de som kommer utifr\u00e5n. Fr\u00e5n arbetsgivarperspektiv \u00e4r 70 procent av de h\u00f6gskoleutbildade i Kalmar och V\u00e4xj\u00f6 fr\u00e5n Linn\u00e9universitetet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Vi har sedan 2010 f\u00f6rsett Sverige och regionen med bland annat 3 000 sjuksk\u00f6terskor, 1&nbsp;200 ingenj\u00f6rer, 925&nbsp;<strong>sj\u00f6kaptener<\/strong>\/sj\u00f6ingenj\u00f6rer och tusentals poliser. Vi har byggt upp de&nbsp;<strong>st\u00f6rsta skogliga utbildningarna i Sverige.<\/strong>&nbsp;N\u00e5gra skulle s\u00e5klart l\u00e4st p\u00e5 annan ort om vi inte funnits, men en betydande del skulle inte g\u00e5tt vidare. Vi kan se en stark regional rekrytering av till exempel h\u00f6gskoleingenj\u00f6rer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Vi har 40 000 individer i utbildning varje \u00e5r! V\u00e5ra programstudenter har en mycket h\u00f6g matchning mot arbetsmarknaden \u2013 tv\u00e4rtemot p\u00e5st\u00e5enden av fel- och \u00f6verutbildning. Visst beh\u00f6vs fler utbildade, inte minst ingenj\u00f6rer, men det \u00e4r ofta s\u00f6ktrycket som fattas och det \u00e4r en gemensam fr\u00e5ga mellan skolv\u00e4sende och arbetsgivare att \u00e4ndra p\u00e5 det. Vi utbildar alla som kan och vill \u2013 och de f\u00e5r jobb som kr\u00e4ver deras kunskap. En l\u00f6nsam investering, visar SUHF, Sveriges universitets och h\u00f6gskolef\u00f6rbund.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Vi kan \u00f6ka v\u00e5rt bidrag till b\u00e5de regionens och Sveriges kompetens om utbildningsanslaget \u00e5terst\u00e4lls till 1990-\u00e5rs niv\u00e5 och forskningsanslaget matchar uppdraget.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.sns.se\/artiklar\/leder-geografisk-spridning-av-larosaten-till-breddad-rekrytering-2\/\">Se SNS seminarium <em>Leder geografisk spridning av l\u00e4ros\u00e4ten till breddad rekrytering?<\/em> fr\u00e5n den 25 april 2024 i sin helhet h\u00e4r.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\/Peter Aronsson, rektor<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">A higher education institution that makes a difference<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The higher education reform of 1977 aimed to make research-based higher education available across a greater part of Sweden. Twelve independent university colleges were established in 16 different municipalities. This would allow more citizens throughout Sweden to participate in the knowledge society. Kalmar and V\u00e4xj\u00f6 hosted two of these twelve university colleges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Nearly 50 years later, we can answer the question of how well the expectations have been met. The SNS report on the intended broadened recruitment and its consequences was released on Thursday, 25 April, and discussed at a seminar in Stockholm \u2013 as well as online.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Today, the knowledge society has other and higher requirements on research-based higher education than 50 years ago. Linnaeus University is one of Sweden&#8217;s larger higher education institutions with a wide range of education and research, located in a part of Sweden that has a strong, export-oriented industry. A region that needs further research and innovation in close cooperation with business and the public sector. Linnaeus University supports regional expansion, strengthens the competitiveness of the business sector, and ensures the supply of skills for both the public and private sectors. Historically, this is a region where a low proportion of the inhabitants have had higher education, many small and medium-sized enterprises, and an increasingly higher need for skills to boost competitiveness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Although the effect of independent courses was not included and the report was limited to the home municipalities of the new university colleges, the authors note that it is a classic Swedish reform that has succeeded in mobilising more students from environments not accustomed to study; and with a higher degree of ethnic diversity than, for example, Lund and Uppsala.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>At Linnaeus University, we educate twice as many students from families without highly educated parents as Uppsala and Lund. We also have more students with a foreign background, more than 26 percent in comparison with Uppsala&#8217;s and Lund&#8217;s 20 and 22 percent respectively.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Other studies show that 80 percent of those who apply from the region stay in the regional labour market, compared to just 20 percent of those who come from outside. From an employer&#8217;s perspective, 70 percent of the people with a higher education in Kalmar and V\u00e4xj\u00f6 are from Linnaeus University.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Since 2010, we have provided Sweden and the region with, among other things, 3 000 nurses, 1 200 engineers, 925 ship captains\/marine engineers, and thousands of police officers. We have built the largest forestry programmes in Sweden. Some would, of course, have studied elsewhere if we did not exist, but a significant part would not have pursued further education. We can see a strong regional recruitment of, for example, engineering students.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We have 40 000 individuals studying with us each year! Our programme students meet the demands from the labour market very well \u2013 contrary to claims of wrong education and over-education. Indeed, more well-educated people are needed, not least engineers, but often what is lacking is the number of applicants per place, and it is a common challenge for the education system and employers to change this. We educate everyone who can and wants \u2013 and they get jobs that require their knowledge.
