Thanks to our input, the 31 page-document emphasizes explicitly the significance of &#8216;heritage futures&#8217; for informing future research agendas:<\/p>\r\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/blogg.lnu.se\/unesco\/files\/2022\/04\/White-Paper.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter  wp-image-2536\" src=\"https:\/\/blogg.lnu.se\/unesco\/files\/2022\/04\/White-Paper.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"611\" height=\"134\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogg.lnu.se\/unesco\/wp-content\/blogs.dir\/209\/files\/sites\/209\/2022\/04\/White-Paper.png 698w, https:\/\/blogg.lnu.se\/unesco\/wp-content\/blogs.dir\/209\/files\/sites\/209\/2022\/04\/White-Paper-300x66.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 611px) 100vw, 611px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\r\n<p>Among the White Paper&#8217;s recommendations for research are&#8230;<\/p>\r\n<ul>\r\n<li>to generate more knowledge on how, in different contexts, cultural meanings and values can enhance climate adaptation and mitigation,<\/li>\r\n<li>to understand better the future risks and opportunities of different perceptions and uses of cultural heritage, not the least for planning climate adaptation,<\/li>\r\n<li>to make sure that more training is available for stakeholders and decision-makers regarding feasible solutions for climate adaptation, including effective methods to evaluate benefits and harm of conservation actions,<\/li>\r\n<li>to investigate threats and opportunities of reducing, renewing, reconstructing, and regenerating cultural heritage for enhancing social cohesion.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\r\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Collaboration between the two Joint Programming Initiatives \u201cCultural Heritage and Global Change\u201d (JPI CH), and \u201cConnecting Climate Knowledge for Europe\u201d (JPI Climate) 2019-2022 has now led to a White Paper on Cultural Heritage and Climate Change: New Challenges and Perspectives for Research.
