{"id":4643,"date":"2026-05-12T15:35:42","date_gmt":"2026-05-12T14:35:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogg.lnu.se\/unesco\/?p=4643"},"modified":"2026-05-12T15:41:21","modified_gmt":"2026-05-12T14:41:21","slug":"unesco-chair-at-nordic-tag","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogg.lnu.se\/unesco\/?p=4643","title":{"rendered":"UNESCO Chair at Nordic TAG"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Nordic TAG at Linnaeus University Kalmar was the largest archaeological conference in Scandinavia in 2026.&nbsp;It was co-organized by Gustav Wollentz and Emily Hanscam (together with two colleagues). <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The theme of the conference was \u2018Activating Archaeology for Just Futures\u2019, exploring the interface between research and activism and the potential for archaeology as a practice &#8211; from the contract archaeology trenches to the university lecture halls &#8211; to be an active and engaged partner in building just futures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The conference included nearly 200 participants, ran for 3.5 days with 19 sessions and 4 workshops. <\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-large is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"576\" src=\"https:\/\/blogg.lnu.se\/unesco\/wp-content\/blogs.dir\/209\/files\/sites\/209\/2026\/05\/20260509_095536-1024x576.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-4651\" style=\"width:680px;height:auto\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogg.lnu.se\/unesco\/wp-content\/blogs.dir\/209\/files\/sites\/209\/2026\/05\/20260509_095536-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/blogg.lnu.se\/unesco\/wp-content\/blogs.dir\/209\/files\/sites\/209\/2026\/05\/20260509_095536-300x169.jpg 300w, https:\/\/blogg.lnu.se\/unesco\/wp-content\/blogs.dir\/209\/files\/sites\/209\/2026\/05\/20260509_095536-768x432.jpg 768w, https:\/\/blogg.lnu.se\/unesco\/wp-content\/blogs.dir\/209\/files\/sites\/209\/2026\/05\/20260509_095536-1536x864.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/blogg.lnu.se\/unesco\/wp-content\/blogs.dir\/209\/files\/sites\/209\/2026\/05\/20260509_095536-2048x1153.jpg 2048w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n<p>Helena Ryd\u00e9n organised and ran a table with publications and other information about the work of the UNESCO Chair at Linnaeus University (7-8 April 2026).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Anders H\u00f6gberg, Gustav Wollentz and Emily Hanscam co-organized and co-chaired a half-day session on &#8220;Reconceptualizing Heritage for Lasting Peace&#8221;. They also gave a joint introductory paper with the same title as the session (8 May 2026).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Cornelius Holtorf presented a paper entitled \u201cAlternative Futures: How can cultural heritage be mobilized for peace rather than war?\u201d in a session on \u201cReconceptualizing Heritage for Lasting Peace\u201d (8 May 2026)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Gustav Wollentz presented a paper entitled &#8220;Reimagining heritage through hope and potentiality\u201d in a session on &#8220;Reconceptualizing Heritage for Lasting Peace\u201d (8 April 2026).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Cornelius Holtorf co-organised as session on \u201cSoil as Archive, Actor and Ally: Rewilding Archaeological Practice\u201d for an audience of cirka 30 participants (8 May 2026).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Cornelius Holtorf presented a paper entitled \u201cDevouring the Iron Age: A Life-Centred and Culinary Approach to the Soil\u201d in the session on \u201cSoil as Archive, Actor and Ally: Rewilding Archaeological Practice\u201d (8 May 2026).
