A small stand-alone PV system for our beehive

One of the things we started working on after the vacation break was a small photovoltaic (PV) system to power our digital beehive, which has multiple sensors connected to a controller circuit. We measure temperature, humidity, air pressure, volatile organic compound (VOC), and weight to approximate honey production. Stand-alone PV systems are used in areas that are not easily accessible or have no access to an electric grid. It is built using one 12V panel (50W), and produces electrical power to charge the circuit battery during the day for use at night when the sun’s energy is unavailable. This system, shown in the diagram below, can be used for camper vans, boats, or simply in any remote location.
