The ubiquity of sensor, computing, communication, and storage technologies provides us with access to previously unknown amounts of data—big data. It has revolutionized research communities and their scientific methodologies and innovated the approaches to knowledge and theory building, validation, and exploitation in the Social Sciences. With the Linnaeus University Center on Data Intensive Sciences and Applications (DISA), Big Data has become a main research area at Linnaeus University.
The research related to this position will focus on environmental policy using big data and other computational social science methods will be carried out in close collaboration between Department of Political Science and Department of Computer Science.The research will be performed within DISA, funded by Linnaeus University.
