PhD course in Social simulation now available!

This course in Social simulation (3 credits) are open to doctoral students connected to Linnaeus University Centre for Data Intensive Sciences and Applications (DISA) or other PhD-students with similar interests.
Content
The course introduces social simulation as a way to model interaction and understand complex system using a micro-to-macro generative perspective. It will involve a mix of methodological lectures by Linnaeus University and guest speakers, and practical activities, including the development of an agent-based model using the NetLogo platform.
The course is organized together with the 9th ESSA Summer School in Social Simulation, which means that students will follow and take part in all scientific activities of the summer school (social activities are elective and should be separately paid). Timetable
The course will run at Evedals värdshus on week 33 (August 13-17, 2018). You find the detailed programme here.
Application
The application needs to be submitted no later than March 31st 2018. The reply about admission should be sent out by the end of April.
The course is free for DISA-PhD-students but in order to cover the cost of the conference facilities at the Evedals Värdshus, the course fee is 1500 SEK per person for other students. The fee includes lunches and coffee breaks.
